ABOUT THE HOUSE
Le Labo was created in 2006 by two friends who opened their first laboratory at 233 Elizabeth Street in Nolita, New York City.
The house centres its identity on freshly prepared fragrance, in-store lab culture and a wider network of craftspeople and material origins.
IN THE AROMA BOOK
I have tried a number of Le Labo fragrances, but only a small part of the range has really stayed with me.
Bergamote 22 is the current standout and sits just outside my Top 10 perfumes.

Bergamote 22
A bright, clean and soapy bergamot opening that I liked much more than the later bitter woody-vetiver drydown.

Bergamote 22
A bright, clean and soapy bergamot opening that I liked much more than the later bitter woody-vetiver drydown.
Patchouli 24
For me this was overwhelmingly smoky with a little sweetness: interesting as an artistic composition, but not something I enjoyed wearing.
Rose 31
A clean rose that turned animalic, spicy and powdery; the cumin facet was the part I enjoyed least.
Santal 33
A striking creamy sandalwood opening shifted toward fig, woods that reminded me of cypriol and a plastic/synthetic edge, with exceptionally strong longevity.
Vetiver 46
A citrusy, powdery and very woody perfume with an incense character, eventually settling into a vetiver-and-musk drydown.
