ABOUT THE FRAGRANCE
Le Labo’s Oud 27 is an intense amber-oud composition combining agarwood with Atlas cedar, incense, patchouli, black pepper, saffron and guaiac wood.
OUR TAKE
The opening was difficult for me: plastic, sourness, liquor and something like rotten fruit. Behind that I could detect a hint of Hindi-style oud and possibly some olibanum or incense.
An animalic bitterness that reminded me of civet then became more obvious, and I found it unpleasant rather than interesting. By the drydown, cedar had taken over almost completely.
