ABOUT THE FRAGRANCE
Cuir Mauresque is Serge Lutens’ refined, animalic leather fragrance, inspired by leather tanned with acacia bark in Moorish Andalusia.

OUR TAKE
Labdanum and sweetness led the opening, followed by an animalic facet that made me think of civet or castoreum and perhaps some patchouli. A softer sandalwood quality sat underneath.
Cumin, vanilla or coumarin and powder also emerged. Despite the name, leather never felt especially prominent to me. Interesting to smell, but not something I would be drawn to wear.
