The first thing that stood out was a rich liquorice character, with lavender and the curry facet I associate with immortelle. I found it appetising and distinctive, although that savoury edge was quite prominent.

It reminded me of Amouage Sunshine, but when I compared them more closely Eau Noire felt deeper and darker, with clearer liquorice and a stronger curry note. Sunshine had a sweeter candy quality that I did not get here. Their drydowns came somewhat closer together.
