Parfums de Marly

ABOUT THE FRAGRANCE

Parfums de Marly describes Darley as a fresh aromatic amber-fougère opening with lemon, bergamot and mint, softened by rose, orange blossom, lavender, rosemary and cinnamon, then deepened by sandalwood, guaiac wood, patchouli, amber and tonka bean.

OUR TAKE

3/5

A strong acidic citrus impression, orange or mandarin, made the opening unusual but not especially enjoyable to me. Underneath sat a sweet ambery base.

The heart improved considerably and began to remind me of Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male. By the later stages, it felt like a more wearable version of that style. Longevity seemed weak, though I may simply not have sprayed enough.
