Firsthand reviewBleu opened for me with a pronounced grapefruit blast, followed by a floral and musky character. Compared with fragrances such as Sauvage and the YSL L’Homme line, I felt the familiar modern-designer signature was toned down here rather than dominating the composition.
Citrus and grapefruit remained prominent alongside some incense, watery or aquatic freshness and an almost green facet, with possible ginger and an impression of lavender; vetiver was not especially prominent to my nose. I did not find it particularly innovative, but I thought it was very well executed and unusually versatile, easy to imagine at work, across seasons, or in most everyday settings. As it moved into the heart, it started reminding me more of L’Homme.
