What it is

Cashmeran is a synthetic fragrance material developed in the twentieth century. It is sometimes described through musk language, but its odour is broader than a conventional clean musk and combines several woody, spicy and warm facets.

What it smells like

Cashmeran can suggest:

  • warm dry woods
  • soft musk
  • peppery or spicy warmth
  • balsamic depth
  • a smooth, almost fabric-like softness

Its combination of wood, musk and warmth makes it useful for adding body and diffusion without reading as one simple natural-material note.

How it appears in perfumery

An explicit Cashmeran source listing maps to this page. Broad wording such as “cashmere woods”, “soft woods” or a personal cashmere-like impression does not automatically establish Cashmeran as a material.
