ABOUT THE FRAGRANCE
Fars is a woody Oud Stars perfume inspired by the meeting of Eastern and Western perfumery, opening with cade, lavender and bergamot before cedar, geranium and jasmine lead into amber, vetiver, patchouli and sandalwood.

OUR TAKE
Fars immediately read as a rose, amber and incense composition in a style I associate with many Middle Eastern fragrances. The opening had a sour quality that reminded me of davana. I thought it was well executed and naturally suited to colder weather or evening wear, but the style felt familiar rather than distinctive to me. The drydown developed a quality that reminded me of shamama, which I wondered might be related to cypriol.
