Cologne Royal

ABOUT THE FRAGRANCE

Dior describes Cologne Royale as a noble cologne inspired by the royal courts of the 18th century, conceived as an exercise in perfumery style whose character depends especially on the quality of its citrus ingredients.

OUR TAKE

3/5

Cologne Royal gave me sweet petitgrain, neroli and citrus, with mint in the mix. I was not fully convinced by the mint, and there was also a pronounced essential-oil character with a slightly terpenic edge to the composition.

I thought it was good rather than exceptional. Value was the bigger issue for me: I preferred Mugler Cologne, and I also found Xerjoff Renaissance more compelling in this broad style.
